SIMS 2026 in Eskilstuna, Sweden, will be organized in collaboration with Mälardalen Industrial Technology Center (MITC), Mälardalen University (MDU), Linköping University (LiU), and Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH).

Information

SIMS 2026 covers broad aspects of recent research and industrial development work in modelling, simulation and optimization in engineering applications. The scientific program will include technical sessions with submitted papers and industrial sessions with discussion contributions, keynote presentations, and a poster session. Ph.D. students are particularly encouraged to contribute with papers according to the conference themes.

Full papers: Please use the templates provided on IFAC PaperCept platform and upload your full paper in .pdf format. Full papers should be up to 6 pages long. Full instructions on IFAC PaperCept.
To ensure broad participation and maintain a balanced technical program, each individual may serve as the corresponding author for no more than two (2) submitted papers. Authors may contribute to additional papers as co‑authors, provided they will not be designated as the presenting author for those submissions.

Mälardalen Industrial Technology Center (MITC), is a collaboration arena between industry and academia . MITC will host SIMS 2026, offering a combination of conferencing spaces with industrial technology, robots, smart systems, and digitalization infrastructure. Located at the historic district “Munktellstaden” in the heart of Eskilstuna, SIMS 2026 brings industrial heritage together with digital futures.

  • From Stockholm Arlanda Airport: Bus to Eskilstuna central station (1h28m).
  • From Stockholm Central Station: Train to Eskilstuna central station (1h).
  • From Västerås Central Station: Train to Eskilstuna central station (33m).
It is a 19-minute walk (1.4km) from Eskilstuna central station to MITC, through the city center. Alternatively, public bus service takes approximately 12 minutes to get to the bus stop and a short walk of 7-9 minutes (700m) from the bus stop to MITC.

  • February 15 Extended - Abstract submission (250 words)
  • February 27 - Abstract notification of acceptance
  • April 30 - Full paper submission (6 pages)
  • June 26 - Full paper notification of acceptance and review comments
  • August 21 - Camera-ready manuscript
  • September 16-17 - SIMS conference
Submission notes:
  • A 2-page discussion paper can be submitted instead of a full paper, particularly for topics of significant industrial relevance. You will still need to submit a 250-word abstract by February followed by the discussion paper by May 21st. Discussion papers will be presented at the conference but will not be part of the proceedings. Presenters of discussion papers must register with full or 1-day registration.
